Important Safety & Product Information
⚠️ WARNING
Failure to read and follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, burns, serious injury, medical events, choking, or damage to the device or other property.
Parent or Legal Guardian Responsibility
- Adult Supervision Required: This arts & craft kit must be set up and configured by a parent or legal guardian. Due to the nature of 3D modeling, continuous adult supervision is strictly required during use.
- Supervision & Safety: It is the sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to read this document, educate the child on proper and safe usage, and ensure the device is handled appropriately and lawfully.
- Age Restriction: This device and its accessories are strictly designed for children aged 5 years old and above. Keep out of reach of children under 3 years old due to small parts.
Choking, Strangulation & Entanglement Hazard
- Small Parts & Unfinished Crafts: This kit contains small components and filaments that pose a choking hazard.
- Cords and Cables: Ensure charging cables and power cords are kept out of reach of infants to avoid strangulation hazards. Do not wrap filaments or cords around the neck, limbs, or body.
Filament Compatibility & Material Safety
- Low-Temperature PCL Only: This device is engineered exclusively for low-temperature PCL (Polycaprolactone) filaments. DO NOT use PLA, ABS, or other high-temperature filaments, as they require much higher melting points and present a severe risk of burns, toxic fumes, or permanent damage to the device.
- Official myFirst Filaments Only: To ensure safe operating temperatures and prevent nozzle clogging, use only official myFirst filaments. Using third-party or unapproved filament brands will void the warranty and may cause short-circuiting, overheating, or toxic emissions.
Battery & Power Charging Warnings
This device contains an internal, non-user-replaceable lithium-ion battery. Failure to follow these guidelines may present a risk of fire, chemical burns, electrolyte leaks, or severe injury.
- NO USE WHILE CHARGING: For optimal safety, do not use the 3dPen Make while it is plugged into a power source. Allow the device to charge fully, disconnect the cable, and then use it wirelessly.
- DO NOT USE WITH POWER BANKS: Only charge the device using a standard, wall-adapter power source approved or supplied by myFirst. Do not plug the device into portable power banks or unapproved external batteries, as voltage fluctuations can cause battery destabilization.
- Thermal Escalation & Overheating: If the device, nozzle, or charging cable continually heats up, emits an unusual odor, smokes, or feels excessively hot to the touch, stop using it immediately. Turn off the device, disconnect it from any power source, place it on a non-flammable surface, and contact customer service promptly.
- Do Not Alter: Do not disassemble, modify, puncture, or mechanically damage the pen casing or internal battery.
Ambient Operating & Storage Conditions
- Vehicle Heat Traps: Do not leave the device or filaments inside an unattended vehicle parked in direct sunlight. Intense heat can melt the filaments prematurely and cause battery failure.
- Storage: Store the pen and filaments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, open flames, or high-heat sources.
⚠️ CAUTION
Failure to observe these cautions could result in minor or moderate personal injury, minor skin burns, or property damage.
Nozzle Temperature & Burn Prevention
- Extruder Nozzle: While PCL operates at a lower melting temperature, the nozzle tip still becomes warm during operation. Avoid direct, prolonged skin contact with the nozzle tip during or immediately after use.
- Molten Filament: Do not touch the extruded filament until it has had a few seconds to cool down and solidify.
- Working Surface: Always use the 3D pen on a heat-resistant crafting mat or surface. Do not use the pen on delicate furniture, paper documents, or skin.
💡 NOTICE
Failure to observe these notices could result in property damage, device clogging, or permanently compromise the functionality and longevity of the device.
Anti-Clogging & Maintenance Guidelines
- Clear the Nozzle: Always snip the end of the filament cleanly before inserting it into the pen. Never force a deformed or expanded piece of filament into the loading mechanism.
- Unload After Use: Do not leave filament inside the pen when storing it away. Always use the reverse function to completely unload the filament after a crafting session to prevent permanent clogging.
Liquid & Water Restrictions
- Keep Dry: This device is NOT water-resistant. Keep the 3dPen Make, charging cable, and filaments completely dry. Do not use near sinks, cups of water, or in humid environments like bathrooms. Water damage will permanently ruin the internal electronics.
Proper Disposal & Compliance
- Environmental Regulations: Do not dispose of this electronic device, its lithium-ion battery, or excess plastic waste in standard household trash. Contact your local waste disposal department or electronic recycling facility to dispose of the item in accordance with local environmental regulations.
