Important Safety & Product Information
⚠️ WARNING
Failure to read and follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, burns, serious injury, medical events, or damage to the device or other property.
Parent or Legal Guardian Responsibility
- Adult Supervision Required: This arts & craft kit must be set up, configured, and monitored by a parent or legal guardian. Due to the high-temperature operation of 3D modeling, active supervision is required during use.
- Supervision & Safety: It is the sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to read this document, educate the user on proper and safe usage, and ensure the device is handled appropriately and safely.
- Strict Age Restriction: This device and its accessories are strictly for users aged 12 years old and above. Due to extreme heat hazards and small parts, keep this device completely out of reach of younger children.
Extreme High-Heat & Burn Hazards
- High-Temperature Operation: The internal heating element and extruder nozzle operate at extreme temperatures ranging from 130°C to 230°C. Direct contact with the nozzle tip or internal elements will cause severe burns.
- Safe Environment Use Only: Use this device only in a safe, controlled, and stable environment. Ensure the workspace is free from flammable materials, clutter, pets, or sudden distractions that could cause accidental skin contact with the hot nozzle.
Wired Power Connection Only
- No Wireless Operation: The 3dPen Artist is a wired device only and does not contain a battery. It cannot be used wirelessly.
- Power Source Safety: The device must remain plugged into an approved power adapter during use. Do not pull, stretch, or tightly bend the power cable while crafting, as this can damage the internal wiring or pull the hot pen out of your hand.
- Do Not Use with Power Banks: Only power the device using a standard wall-adapter power source approved or supplied by myFirst. Do not plug the device into portable power banks, as unstable power delivery can cause dangerous thermal fluctuations.
Filament Compatibility & Material Safety
- High-Temperature PLA Only: This device is engineered exclusively for high-temperature PLA (Polylactic Acid) filaments. DO NOT use PCL filaments, as PCL has a much lower melting point and will melt prematurely inside the feeding mechanism, causing permanent clogging, smoking, or damage.
- Official myFirst Filaments Only: To ensure safe operating compliance and prevent toxic fumes or nozzle blockages, use only official myFirst PLA filaments. Using third-party or unapproved filament brands will void the warranty and poses a fire or overheating risk.
Thermal Escalation & Emergency Care
- Overheating Issue: If the device casing continually heats up, emits an unusual burning odor, smokes, or feels excessively hot to the touch, stop using it immediately. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, place the pen on a non-flammable surface, and contact customer service promptly.
- Do Not Alter: Do not disassemble, modify, puncture, or mechanically damage the pen casing.
⚠️ CAUTION
Failure to observe these cautions could result in personal injury, minor skin burns, or property damage.
Nozzle Temperature & Burn Prevention
- Extruder Nozzle: Never touch the brass or ceramic tip of the nozzle during use or during the cooling down period.
- Molten Filament: Do not touch the extruded PLA filament until it has had sufficient time to cool down and solidify.
- Working Surface: Always use the 3D pen on a high-heat-resistant crafting mat or surface. Do not use the pen directly on delicate furniture, flammable fabrics, paper documents, or skin.
💡 NOTICE
Failure to observe these notices could result in property damage, device clogging, or permanently compromise the functionality and longevity of the device.
Anti-Clogging & Maintenance Guidelines
- Clear the Nozzle: Always snip the end of the filament cleanly before inserting it into the pen. Never force a deformed or expanded piece of filament into the loading mechanism.
- Unload After Use: Do not leave filament inside the pen when turning it off. Always use the reverse function to completely unload the filament after a crafting session to prevent permanent clogging as the nozzle cools.
Liquid & Water Restrictions
- Keep Dry: This device is NOT water-resistant. Keep the 3dPen Artist, power cable, and filaments completely dry. Do not use near sinks, cups of water, or in humid environments like bathrooms.
Proper Disposal & Compliance
- Environmental Regulations: Do not dispose of this electronic device or excess plastic waste in standard household trash. Contact your local waste disposal department or electronic recycling facility to dispose of the item in accordance with local environmental regulations.

The 3dPen Artist is designed for children aged 5 to 13, helping them enhance spatial awareness and explore their creativity through hands-on art.
What type of filament does this 3D pen use?
The 3dPen Artist pen uses eco-friendly, biodegradable PLA filaments, which solidify in just 10 seconds.
How long does it take for the filament to dry?
The filament solidifies almost instantly—typically in about 10 seconds—allowing users to build and create structures quickly.
Are there spare filaments available for purchase?
Yes, we offer PLA filament refills in a variety of vibrant colors to keep the creative projects going.
What are the difference between warm & cold filaments?
❖ WARM COLORS: Red, Pink, Yellow, Black, Purple
❖ COLD COLORS: White, Blue, Light-Blue, Light-Green, Green
Is the filament hot when it comes out of the pen?
Our filaments vary in temperature but get very hot, so we do not recommend touching the plastic within 5 seconds of it coming out of the pen. Please do not touch the pen tip when it is hot, as it can cause burns.
Can I draw on skin?
While the 3DPen Artist filament is completely safe for skin contact once cooled—making it perfect for crafting wearable items like jewelry, masks, and glasses—the pen's nozzle becomes extremely hot and should never be pressed directly against your skin. To avoid accidental burns, always create your designs on a drawing surface rather than on your body. Additionally, keep the pen and extruded filament clear of your hair, as it can trap strands and be incredibly difficult to remove.
